North Queensland Support & Research for Cystic Fibrosis

At Supporters of 65 Roses Inc we are committed to improving the quality of life of NQ children and young adults affected by Cystic Fibrosis or CF, a life-threatening genetic disorder that severely affects lung function and digestion.

Our goal has been to raise public awareness of CF and fundraise so that we can help local families. We understand the many day to day challenges that CF families have to deal with. By providing essential respiratory & exercise equipment, travel assistance for families to access hospital treatment, and hospital visits where we give a ‘care pack’ filled with toys, activities & high calorie snacks to sick children and young adults, our charity has provided support that really makes a difference. We are also passionate about fundraising for CF Research, supporting research to help find new treatments and hopefully one day a cure.

Supporters of 65 Roses Inc was established as an independent charity back in November 2004 by volunteers, wanting to support their local CF community. Today the backbone of our not-for-profit is still volunteers. We are efficiently run by a dedicated & hard-working Management Committee, no one is paid, so donations go to where you would expect, and to where it is most needed, supporting NQ families and CF Research. We do not receive any government funding so we rely heavily on the generosity of others to help us to provide services for CF families.

Our name was inspired by the 65 Roses story – a story about a child who couldn’t pronounce cystic fibrosis.
